Set up by SAIL-Bhilai, the facility was operationalised in October 23 and more than 90 tonnes of toxic waste oil from old transformers has so far been disposed in environment-friendly manner. BSP has also successfully conducted trial runs for the use of LDslag as runner material in Blast Furnace runners as a replacement of river sand. Yet another measure taken in the area of waste management is successful trial runs for the co-processing of plastic granules manufactured from segregated plastics from Municipal solid waste in Coke Ovens.
