Essar Bulk Terminal Paradip bags coveted ‘Greentech CSR Award’ in Healthcare Category

Essar Bulk Terminal Paradip, recently won the coveted ‘Greentech CSR India Award’ in the ‘Health Care’ category. The terminal is part of Essar Ports, one of India’s largest private sector port and terminal developers and operator, and the flagship assets under the infrastructure portfolio of Essar Global Fund Limited (EGFL). The fund is managed by Essar Capital.


Driven by Essar Global’s ESG-centric policies, Essar Ports’ has remained committed to keeping HSE (health, safety & environment) and community work at its core. The award reiterates Essar Ports’ pledge of always placing people before profit.



Greentech jury members selected the Vision Centre. The Vision Centre was set-up by Essar Bulk Terminal Paradip at Biju Memorial Hospital Paradip, under its CSR initiative to help people of Paradip and adjoining areas to get eye treatment. The community, otherwise, had to travel to Cuttack to get treatment as the hospital did not have an ophthalmology department. Essar Vision Centre has been providing comprehensive eye testing from its inception, and the centre is well-equipped with modern ophthalmic instruments for better eye care. The Centre has treated over 45,000 patients and has also provided free medicines, eye drops and presbyopia glasses to those in need.


CSR Incharge, Yugajyoti Mohanty, accepted the award on behalf of Essar Ports at a function held at Mahabalipuram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
