Gangavaram Port bags Greentech CSR Award 2022

The 9th Annual CSR India Awards presented the prestigious “Greentech CSR Award 2022″ to Gangavaram Port. The Port has received this award in the “Rural Development” category in appreciation of its efforts in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, and sports. In the presence of Shri ParimalBaidyasukla, Minister of Transport & Excise, and Dr. Arup Kumar Misra, Chairman, Assam State Pollution Control Board, the award was given to Dr.Jyothi D, VP, Gangavaram Port, by Shri Bimal Borah, Minister of Industries & Commerce & Public Enterprises, Government of Assam.


The honor is a clear indication of Gangavaram Port’s dedication to social welfare. The port has consistently been at the forefront of rural development and CSR projects aimed at enhancing people’s lives. To enhance students’ skill sets and encourage the use of digital classrooms, the port management established a computer lab and a digital library in ZPHS Gangavaram. The Port has upheld cleanliness standards and supports the nutrition programme at many schools in the area. GPL built community centres and water facilities for the kids at two Anganwadi centres, two critical utilities in the villages. The port management also gives young people job possibilities and encourages them to play at the national level.
